Overview

Khor Virap - The Khor Virap  is an  Armenian monastery located in the Ararat plain in Armenia. The monastery was host to a theological  seminary and was the residence of Armenian  Catholicos.  Khor Virap's notability as a monastery and pilgrimage site is attributed to the fact that  Gregory the Illuminator  was initially imprisoned here for 14 years by King Tiridates III Armenia. Saint Gregory subsequently became the king's religious mentor, and they led the proselytizing activity in the country. In the year 301, Armenia was the first country in the world to be declared a Christian nation.
Areni village - a centennial center of Armenian winemaking. Here you can try a wide variety of wines, including the Areni grapes made of them. Wine can be tasted both in wine-makers and in the hospitable villa's home.
Noravank monastery -The monastery is located in Vayots Dzor region, dating back to the XIII-XIV centuries. Noravank is known not only as medieval spiritual center of Syunik, but also surrounded by unique and mysterious red rocks. This monastic complex is considered to be the most prominent Armenian miniature artist and sculptor Momik.
Jermuk - here is the Jermuk waterfall, the mineral water sources, as well as the Kechut reservoir. High-mountainous mountains with unique examination are located in Jermuk's hot healing sources where you can take baths anywhere.

"Don't miss it if you love waterfalls"

This impressive water fall called Mermaids hair by the locals (since it reminds of hair flowing freely) is beautiful by any standards and should be on your must see list if you love waterfalls. The access to the waterfall is by a steep narrow road which is not in too good condition and not too well posted- but you should not have too much difficulty finding it by asking the helpful locals.
